Sigríður Candi (1930-2018) was a lifelong artist whose legacy consists of a varied collection of artworks in a wide range of media. Her work includes pencil and ink drawings, textiles, collages, paintings and more.
Created over more than two decades, her series of cloud canvases featured in Heart-to-Heart were produced in a range of sizes and executed mostly in acrylic, though some are oil paintings.
Sigríður studied art in her native Iceland as well as in Switzerland, France, Canada and the United States. Her work was exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Iceland, Canada and France. Alongside her career as an artist, she taught art, drawing and art history at the elementary, high school and college levels.
